Snoring is a very common problem that disrupt your sleep and your partner’s. Snoring happens when relaxed structures in the throat vibrate and start making noise.

Use these natural home remedies to stop snoring and get a good night sleep.

Peppermint
Peppermint

The anti-inflammatory nature of peppermint helps to reduce the swelling of the membrane on the back of the throat and nose. Peppermint treatment works well for temporary snoring due to allergies, colds or dry air. Add 1 or 2 drops of peppermint oil to a glass of water. Gargle before going to bed. Please be sure to not to swallow this solution. Please do this everyday until you get the desired result. If dry air and congestion are causing your snoring, add a few drops of peppermint oil (you can also use eucalyptus oil) in the humidifier for about 30 minutes before you go to bed and turn it on. Run the humidifier overnight. This will help to open up your airways so that you do not snore. Before going to bed, you can also rub a little peppermint oil under the bottom of both sides of your nose.

Olive Oil

Being a powerful anti-inflammatory agent, olive oil relaxes all tissues of the airways and reduces swelling to provide a clear passageway for air. It can also reduce pain. Combine half of each teaspoon of olive oil and honey in a glass of water. Please consume it every day before going to bed.

Nasal congestion is one of the main reason behind snoring. One of the best solutions to reduce congestion is to inhale steam. Please pour hot boiling water into the big bowl. Add 3 or 4 drops of Eucalyptus essential oil or Tea Tree Essential Oil. Hold the towel over your head and breathe in deeply your steam for 10 minutes through your nose. Please follow this remedy before going to bed everyday until your congestion clears up.

Cardamom is an effective remedy to open the nasal cavity that is blocked and congested. Add half a teaspoon of cardamom powder to a glass of warm water. Please drink 30 minutes before going to bed. Please do every day to reduce your snoring.

Being a powerful antiseptic and antibiotic, turmeric can help you treat inflammation and reduce heavy snoring. Turmeric should be used with milk to treat snoring. If you only snore at a certain time of the year, it will probably be due to inflammation caused by some sort of seasonal allergy. This type of temporary snoring can be treated with nettle leaves or powder. Add some grounded nettle leaves to 1 glass of hot water. Please let it steep for 5 minutes and strain it. Drink this warm tea before going to bed. Drinking 2 to 3 cups of nettle leaf tea every day during an allergy season can prevent snoring.

Chamomile has a well-known anti-inflammatory effect that can help to stop snoring. It is also a nerve and muscle relaxant that can facilitate tense muscles and nerves around the throat to facilitate better sleep. Please add 1 tablespoon of chamomile flowers (or one chamomile tea bag) to a cup of water. Simmer for about 15 minutes. Strain it and add one teaspoon of honey.
