Neck Pain

Neck pain can be characterized as a sharp or dullĀ aching in the neck, shoulder and nearby muscles. Main cause for neck pain is muscle tension and strain. This can be to poor posture, nutritional deficiencies, neck injury, nerve compression, cervical spondylosis and fibromyalgia.

Generally, neck pain is not serious and may go away by itself.

In the meantime, use these natural home remedies for neck pain and provide relief from the discomfort.

Epsom Salt
Epsom Salt

Epsom salt bath can relieve muscle tension, reduce stress and instantaneously alleviate pain. Epsom salt or magnesium sulfate acts as a natural muscle relaxant to help reduce swelling and pain. Please add 1 ~ 2 cups of Epsom salt to the warm bath. Please soak your body, especially your neck for 15 to 20 minutes. Please do this everyday until the pain in your neck is completely healed. Note: If you have heart problems, high blood pressure or diabetes, avoid this treatment.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple Cider Vinegar is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent that can help reduce neck pain. In addition, it has a number of important nutrients to eliminate the possibility of nutrient deficiency related pain. Soak the paper towel with apple cider vinegar. Puts it on the affected part of your neck. Please leave it on for a few hours. Repeat twice daily until pain is gone. Alternatively, you can add two cups of apple cider vinegar to a warm water bath. Soak in it for at least 15 minutes. Please do this once every day until you recover completely.

Lavender oil can be used to relieve neck pain. It is very effective when used together with massage therapy. Take a hot bath or shower to ease your sore neck muscles then rub some lavender oil on your neck and shoulder. Apply gentle pressure with small circular movement to massage the affected area for 10 minutes. Repeat daily as necessary. You can even dilute lavender oil with coconut oil or olive oil.

Turmeric

You can also use turmeric to treat neck pain. Turmeric has curcumin which acts like an anti-inflammatory agent which is also an important phytochemical that helps relieve pain. Turmeric also helps to improve blood circulation to help speed up the recovery process. Mix one teaspoon of turmeric powder into a glass of milk or water. Please heat it for 5 minutes with low heat. Remove it from heat, add a little honey and cool it. Please drink twice a day until your pain is completely gone.

Ginger

Ginger is a natural anti-inflammatory agent that improves circulation and blood flow to affected areas. This in turn helps reduce inflammation as well as pain. Cut a small part of the ginger's roots into small slices. Boil the ginger slices for 10 minutes with 10 cups of water. Strain, add honey and drink. Alternatively, you can substitute fresh ginger with organic ginger powder. Repeat several times each day until you get relief.

Cayenne Pepper

Cayenne pepper contains analgesics and capsaicin with anti-inflammatory properties to help reduce neck pain. Add 1 teaspoon of cayenne pepper powder to 2 teaspoon of lukewarm olive oil. Please mix well and apply to the muscles of the neck part. Follow this simple treatment twice daily until pain is gone.
